Father, and hopefully grandfather one day
Born in 1960 in the Philippines –
in the land of a thousand islands
– my journey into the world of drinks and cocktails began at the age of 17 in the Manila Hilton Hotel. Two years later, my path led me to Bahrain and finally to Germany. Here I found a new home in the beautiful south and worked in some of the best bars and hotels in the country.
In Germany, I met inspiring people, made real friends and started my own family. My professional passion has always been gin. Although I tasted many excellent gins over the years, none could evoke the memory of my grandfather. This inspired me to create my own gin to honor and preserve my grandfather’s memories and values.
Ortiz IV Gin is more than just a drink. It is a tribute to my grandfather and combines Filipino virtues such as family spirit, community and harmony with German values such as quality, craftsmanship and innovation. Immerse yourself in a world full of exoticism and tradition and enjoy a gin that tells stories!

Unique due to its 12 botanicals and the peppery overall note. Hand-bottled in a small distillery in northern Germany. Convincing both neat and with mild tonic.
